Power Management Systems (PMS)

The Power Management System (PMS) is a critical system that provides generator control, equipment protection, and fuel optimization in various environments such as ships, pools, or land power plants. PMS is designed to manage and optimize energy production processes, offering an integrated structure that enhances energy efficiency.

One of the primary functions of PMS is to ensure the automatic start of generators. The system synchronizes the generators, ensuring that multiple generators operate harmoniously. Through load-sharing functions, the load is balanced among the generators, thus achieving maximum efficiency during energy production.

PMS performs critical measurement functions, including voltage, current, frequency, and power measurement. Additionally, it includes functions for calculating power factor and monitoring operating hours. Diesel engines, generators, and circuit breakers are continuously monitored and controlled by PMS. This monitoring enhances the reliability of the system, helping to prevent potential failures.

Safety functions are implemented in accordance with applicable ANSI standards, which maintains a high level of safety within the system. PMS automatically activates in the event of a blackout, taking necessary precautions. Furthermore, it has the capability to release consumers when sufficient power is available and to perform preferential start operations in cases of power shortages. This ensures that critical systems with energy needs continue to operate.
